About Us
The photo above was taken over 50 years ago. I was very proud to punch a time clock and contribute to Pendleton Woolen Mills by grinding spinning frame rolls. While many things have changed significantly since then, the gratification from continuing a family tradition of providing fine woolen products to satisfied customers is as meaningful as ever.
The mill where I worked in 1970 is now the home of our Woolen Mill Store in Milwaukie, Oregon. Over three hundred of my co-workers continue to spin yarn and weave fabric at our mills in Pendleton, Oregon and Washougal, Washington. We carry on a tradition that my ancestor Thomas Kay brought from Yorkshire, England to Oregon in 1863.
While the assortment of products that we offer today goes well beyond what we can produce in our own mills, Pendleton remains a company that values craftsmanship inherited from the past, creating styles relevant for the present and providing lasting quality for future generations.
Thank you for your interest in our family business.
